Now that The Bachelor is over and Married At First Sight seems like a very distant nightmare, Australian audiences are yearning for their next reality TV fix – and Channel Nine is about to deliver.
Love Island is just around the corner with the Nine Network announcing the hit reality show is back once again, with ep 1 premiering on Monday, October 7.
Considering the show’s premiere is a little over a week away, we thought we’d go ahead and answer all your burning questions, namely: Who is the infamous (and hilarious) narrator?

The man behind the witty voice is none other than Irish comic Eoghan McDermott (pronounced Owen, for all those non-Irish readers).
Eoghan is kinda a big deal fam.
Before he was the voice on Love Island Australia, he was a backup dancer for Rihanna (yes, THE Rihanna) and professionally boogied alongside The Pussycat Dolls and Chris Brown.
So one could say he’s been floating around the industry for some time now.
Eoghan became a household name in 2011 after he found fame on MTV’s Pick Me MTV, a reality series which focused on finding the network’s next on-air presenter.
From that experience, your man Eoghan signed on with XFM as a radio DJ host.
In 2013, Eoghan landed a hoasting gig at national broadcaster 2FM.
Oh, and he co-hosted the Irish version of The Voice.
In 2015 and 2016, Eoghan hosted Eurovision’s Irish Selection shows, which helped him sign on to do the voiceover for Love Island Australia in 2018.
Love Island announced thir return on September 16, via the show’s official Instagram page with the caption: “THIS IS NOT A DRILL!! Please try to remain calm while #LoveIslandAU makes its way to your screen.💜”
Unfortunately, MAFS star Jessika Power will not be joining the cast of Love Island, despite consistent rumours that she was set to shake things up this year.
Speaking to New Idea, the controversial reality TV star— who no doubt would’ve brought SO much drama to the dating series— said she’s too busy with other business ventures to return to our screens so soon after starring on MAFS.
“At the moment, I have so many amazing projects in the works that I want to focus on, so the possibility of more reality TV for me this year isn’t in my cards,” said Jess, who recently announced she’s split from fellow MAFS star, Nick Furphy.
