The first trailer for Ian Somerhalder’s new vampire series for Netflix has dropped, and it looks SO intense.

Based on what we can see in the trailer, V Wars is going to be a hell of a lot darker than The Vampire Diaries

In the upcoming series, Ian will no longer be giving us Damon Salvatore vibes, but instead will be portraying Dr Luther Swann, a man who is forced to confront the world of monsters and horror after a mysterious disease transforms his bestie Michael Fayne (Adrian Holmes), into a murderous predator who feeds on other humans.

AKA, Michael Fayne becomes a vampire.

Even though the new vamps attempt to live peacefully amongst humans, when news hits the non-blood suckers that vampires are a real an all-out war breaks out.

In a fun twist, it looks like Ian’s wife – and fellow vampire from the Twilight series – Nikki Reed will also be joining the show, as we saw a ~very~ brief glimpse of Rosalie Cullen in the trailer.

Earlier this month, Netflix announced that V Wars will be arriving on our screens December 5th.
