WATCH BELOW:
The Goldfinch follows Theodore “Theo” Decker’s story – played by Ansel Elgort.
He was only 13-years-old when his mother was killed in a tragic bombing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC.
The tragedy of losing his mother day way changes how Theo inevitably lives his life.
“In Amsterdam, I dreamt I saw my mother again… same beautiful, pale blue eyes,” Ansel says in the voiceover in the trailer. “When I lost her, I lost sight of any landmark that might’ve led me someplace happier.”
The film is the adaptation of Donna Tartt’s Pulitzer Prize-winning 2014 novel of the same name.
The film also stars Nicole Kidman, Finn Wolfhard, and Sarah Paulson.
The Goldfinch will be released Sept. 13, 2019.
