Brooklyn Nine-Nine is back with a bang – literally, with an explosive new trailer (which you can watch below) for the upcoming sixth season recently dropping. Featuring TV’s funniest cops atop a skyscraper and star Andy Samberg, who plays Die Hard-obsessed Detective Jake Peralta, wearing a John McClane-style singlet, the “recruitment video” indicates the show’s new US network, NBC, is pulling out all the stops to ensure the series makes a huge return.

After being cancelled by Fox after Season 5, NBC picked up the fan favourite comedy in America for a sixth season. In Australia, Brooklyn Nine-Nine will continue to air on SBS express from the US. Season 6 begins on Fri., Jan. 11 at 8.30pm on SBS VICELAND, with the episode available that afternoon on SBS On Demand. As a reminder of where we left Jack and the department, a marathon of Episodes 10-22 of Season 5 will air on Sun., Jan. 6 at 5pm. If that wasn’t enough to satisfy the show’s hardcore following, there’s also an alternate version of the trailer (below) with a different ending.

Word from the set is that we will find out very quickly this season whether Captain Holt (Andre Braugher) has been promoted to NYPD commissioner, while departing cast member Chelsea Peretti, who plays Gina Linetti, will be given a typically zany send-off. Plus, this season will see the returns of the Pontiac Bandit (Craig Robinson) and Kevin Cozner (Marc Evan Jackson).
