Two greatest stories ever told? Harry Potter and Titanic…
But that’s just MY personal opinion.
However, it seems like J.K. Rowling may agree, because she just combined both worlds in the new Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, and we’re so impressed!
The new movie finally gives us Leta Lestrange, Newt Scamander’s high school love-interest and now, future sister-in-law. Aka, Zoe Kravitz.
During the film, Leta subtly hints that she has a dark and horrible past involving her dead brother. Later, it’s revealed that when she was a young child living in London, her father sent her and her brother away to America.
They were on a ship that sank… that ship was the FREAKING TITANIC!
Okay, so this is just a theory that. Seventeen.com have come up with, but their proof is pretty strong!
The time period works…
The Titanic set off in 1912 from Southampton, UK, and was on route to America. Leta was around 10-years-old in the flashback. The movie takes place in 1927, making her around 25 in The Grimes of Grindelwald.
Historical events in the movies…
The movie hints that the five-part series will give us a look into WWII. So, J.K. Rowling seems to be working in huge historical events from each time period, which would make sense for the Titanic.
The ship looked like the Titanic…
In the film, we only get a very small glimpse of the actual sinking ship and rowboats, which happen to look exactly like what went down with the Titanic.
Seeing as this is a J.K. Rowling masterpiece, we wouldn’t be surprised.
