We’re obsessed with Riverdale for a number of reasons, but the main one is who killed our second-fave hunky redhead Jason Blossom? The whodunnit is extra edgy coz no offence, but it could literally be anyone in this dodgy town! However this fan theory about Betty claims it’s not only her, but she has A LOT more going on under that bouncy blonde ponytail…
We already know Betty’s parents HATE the Blossoms, and while Betty defends them, fans thinks that her interest in solving Jason’s case comes from not helping her sister find her baby daddy (or clearing her ‘rents) but because she herself did it! The theory is that Betty suffers from blackouts and can’t remember killing Jason, but thinks she might have and that’s why she’s so desperate to figure it out first.
Remember that episode where she went a bit cray cray on Chuck and ‘dark Betty’ took over and she thought she was Polly? One Reddit theory says Betty’s blackout is a symptom of dissociative identity disorder (AKA split personalities) and she could have blacked out while killing Jason because he supposedly ruined her sister’s life!
But this is where it gets REALLY dark. Besides having multiple personalities, the theory suggest that Polly is also one of Betty’s personalities and doesn’t even exist! We’re not sure why everyone around town pretends Polly is real too but maybe everyone knows about Betty’s condition and humours her?
