V Wars officially drops TODAY, and in preparation for your new favourite show hitting Netlfix, we thought we’d round up the entire cast for you (and explain their characters).

Fair warning: V Wars is going to be a hell of a lot darker than The Vampire Diaries.
In the upcoming series, Ian Somerhalder will no longer be giving us Damon Salvatore vibes, but instead will be portraying Dr Luther Swann, a man who is forced to confront the world of monsters and horror after a mysterious disease transforms his bestie Michael Fayne (Adrian Holmes), into a murderous predator who feeds on other humans.

Ian Somerhalder as Dr. Luther Swann
Dr. Luther Swann is a medical doctor who is called in to examine the mysterious virus that is turning people into vampires.
Luther finds himself in between a rock and a hard place when he has to study the virus that turns his best friend into a vampire.
Speaking exclusively to Girlfriend magazine, Ian revealed how excited he was to change it up from Damon Salvatore.
“I feel SO lucky to have played the character Damon Salvatore for 8 years. I think he was literally one of the best-written roles in television ever. It was a blast. He was snarky, he was sexy, he was funny, he was dynamic. He was also at times, a huge prick. But people still loved him. But coming off that, when I found Luther Swann… while he might not be a vampire he still is a superhero to me,” Ian shared.
“But his superpowers is that he is a great dad, a great scientist, and a great husband. He’s a good, normal f***ing dude. And then he is thrown into this situation that literally rips his world and everyone else world around him apart.”
Adrian Holmes as Michael Fayne
Michael Fayne is Dr. Luther Swann’s best friend who becomes infected by the mystery virus and turns into a vampire. Michael then becomes the leader of the vampires which (understandably) puts a strain on his and Luther’s relationship.
Peter Outerbridge as Calix Niklos
Peter Outerbridge – who’s been in TV shows such as The Umbrella Academy and Orphan Black – is portraying a scientist from Homeland Security who contacts Dr. Swann in order to help him find a cure for the mystery virus.
Calix seems to be a tricky character, as he has good intentions but he’s also willing to throw anyone under the bus.
Laura Vandervoort as Mila Dubov
Laura’s world gets turned upside down when her sister gets infected with the mystery virus and the vampires begin to roam amongst the humans.
Jacky Lai as Kaylee Vo
Kaylee Vo is an ambitious investigative reporter.
Kimberly-Sue Murray as Danika
Danika is Mila’s sister who turns into a vampire after becoming infected by the virus.
Danika also begins to stir up trouble for Dr. Luther Swann.
