Taylor Zakhar Perez probably doesn’t need a publicity assistant. We say this because the actor is clearly already making the most of his new fame in the best way possible. Zakhar Perez has blown up practically overnight since The Kissing Booth 2 dropped on Netflix, shooting from about 70 thousand to nearly three million followers on Instagram. Not content with just playing Marco, everyone’s new YA crush, Zakhar Perez is taking things even further in his quest to have the world fall in love with him: by giving out his phone number and texting fans.
Texting does play a bit of a role in The Kissing Booth 2, so we can see how it’s on-brand, but apparently this is all because the actor wants to get to know his fans better. Zakhar Perez shared a video to his Instagram telling fans he’s like to hear everything, from what they thought about The Kissing Booth 2 to what they like to cook. “All I can say is wow and thank you guys, because the last four days have been incredible. Do me a favour and text me, the DMs are too much for me, the commenting, I can’t keep track of it all!”
He told his fans that “I want to hear about what you want to know about Kissing Booth 2… what you guys do for fun… I want to hear what you’re reading, movies you’re watching, if you have any calls to action you’re interested in, anything!”
Then, because this man knows how to play the game, he added that fans could ask, “What Joey and I do for fun.” Zakhar Perez *surely* knows that he’s fuelling speculation that he’s dating co-star Joey King, and tbh we’re not mad about it. We love seeing a Latinx actor get their $$$ and success.
Obviously, because he’s just starred in one of the biggest and most-watched Netflix franchises out, his inbox was flooded. Zakhar Perez also posted screenshots of his cute messages to fans, which included relationship advice, birthday wishes and an *apology he was slow to reply.* Stick a fork in us, we’re done.
