The Spice Girls have a very busy schedule ahead of them, with a reported appearance at the upcoming royal wedding, and now, an animated superhero movie in the works.
Variety is reporting the iconic girl group could be set to provide the voices for an animated film that champions girl power. A source told the publication that the British girl group are “fired up about the idea” that is being shopped around.
“The Spice Girls are thinking big in terms of a franchise on a global scale. They’re the most successful girl group on the planet. It’s just what Marvel or Disney needs,” the source said.
If the project goes ahead, Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Geri Halliwell would play superheroes with powers that match their personalities.
Last month, the band released a statement hinting at future projects.
“We are always overwhelmed at how much interest there is across the whole world for the Spice Girls,” they said in a statement. “The time now feels right to explore some incredible new opportunities together.”
