Chances are, if you own an iPhone, you’ve probably dealt with or will soon deal with a shattered screen.
It’s glass. It happens.
However, we’re sure you’ve all heard that rumour that you basically lose warranty on your phone/Apple won’t be able to fix any repairs on your phone if you’ve previously used an unauthorised repairer (like this phone stands near food courts).
It turns out that’s a lie.
The ACCC wants people to know that the Australian Consumer Law overrides whatever manufacturers try to put in the fine print.
As long as whatever is wrong with your phone wasn’t caused by an unauthorised repairer, Apple cannot refuse to take a look at it.
You can read the long, official version of the law at ACCC’s Repair, Replace and Refund page, and Australian Consumer Law.
Now you don’t have to have that major stress every time you accidentally drop your phone! (sorta).
