Sarah Hyland is getting her first lead TV role since ‘Modern Family’ and it sounds juicy

Ft. a mini-Dunphy reunion.

The Dunphy family are reuniting… well, some of them. Modern Family star Sarah Hyland is joining a new TV series that’s been executive produced by her on-screen dad Ty Burrell.

According to Deadline, Hyland will lead a new sitcom called Yours, Mine & Paul’s. Written and co-executive produced by Julia Meltzer, the show follows “Lauren (Hyland) who agrees to be a surrogate for her best friend, Paul, and his husband, Xander. There’s just one problem: Lauren and Xander hate each other. Oh, also Paul dies in the cold open.”

It hasn’t yet been revealed who will play Xander opposite Hyland.

“Hyland’s Lauren is an impulsive, faux-enlightened millennial who agrees to be the egg donor and surrogate for her best friend Paul, and his husband Xander, despite (or maybe because of) the fact that she and Xander are constantly competing for Paul’s attention. She likes the idea of being the glowing, pregnant center of attention for nine months without having to take care of a crying baby at the end of it. After Paul’s sudden death, she is confronted with the looming possibility of motherhood and co-parenting with her nemesis.”

Over on her Instagram Story, the 29-year-old actress couldn’t even begin to contain her excitement for the new show and to get to work again with her “badass father/daughter business partner.”

“I can finally tell you guys!!!” she captioned a photo of her and Burrell. “I am so excited to be a part of #yoursmineandpauls!!!”

“Badass father/daughter business partners,” she added in another pic of the two. “Being able to work with Ty for 11 years was a dream come true… I’m so happy we get to keep going 🥰”
