February 1, 2022 will forever go down in pop culture history as the day that singing royalty Rihanna and her rapper beau A$AP Rocky announced they are expecting their first child together.

After months of speculation, People Magazine confirmed that the world’s favourite A-list couple would be becoming parents.
Rihanna sent fans into a frenzy when she showed off her baby bump while photographed out in New York City with A$AP, and they couldn’t look happier together.
In one of the sweet photos, the rapper has his arm around Rihanna and is kissing her forehead as they enjoy a walk outside in the snow.
With a long pink jacket unbuttoned at the bottom, her growing bump was on full display and covered in jewels – just about the most stylish baby announcement.
Two days after announcing their pregnancy, Rihanna took to Instagram to share another, more candid, photo of her blossoming baby bump.
“How the gang pulled up to black history month,” she captioned the viral post, which showed her lifting up her jersey to show off her belly.
Rihanna has previously spoken about wanting to become a mother in a 2020 interview with British Vogue, where she was asked where she sees herself in 10 years.
“Ten years? I’ll be 42! I’ll be ancient. I’ll have kids—three or four of ’em,” she said at the time.
“I feel like society makes me want to feel like, ‘Oh, you got it wrong….’ They diminish you as a mother if there’s not a dad in your kids’ lives. But the only thing that matters is happiness. That’s the only healthy relationship between a parent and a child. That’s the only thing that can raise a child truly is love.”
A$AP has also spoken about the possibility of parenthood in his GQ interview.
“If that’s in my destiny, absolutely,” he said, adding: “I think I’d be an incredible, remarkably, overall amazing dad. I would have a very fly child. Very.”
Ever since Rihanna and A$AP collaborated together a decade ago on his 2013 video for Fashion Killa, fans have shipped the pair to become the next power couple, and in mid-2022, we rejoiced as they went public with their romance.
It was during Rihanna’s Fenty Skin campaign in 2020, where she enlisted the help of A$AP, that their chemistry really came through during a couple of videos for Vogue and GQ.
During their GQ video, A$AP even admitted that the “hardest part” of working with Rihanna was how much fun they had together.
“I think the hardest part about working with you is not goofin’ off and laughing the whole time. Like this sh*t is comedy,” he said.
“That’s the hardest part. You know, people be so cool it’s hard not to, not to laugh. That’s all. But it was fun. The hardest part is not having too much fun. You just forget that it’s still work at the end of the day.”
If that wasn’t sweet enough, the rapper really amped up the praise for Rih in an interview with GQ last year in May, where he couldn’t help but gush over her.
At the beginning of the interview, A$AP Rocky called the singer “the love of my life” and referred to her as “my lady”.
“She amounts to probably, like, a million of the other ones,” Rocky said, “I think when you know, you know. She’s The One.”
Those words alone were enough confirmation that the two were an item, and they’ve since gone on to appear on multiple red carpets together.
Their most recent appearance was at the Met Gala last year, where Rihanna arrived at the 2021 event with A$AP Rocky in a matching ensemble – and they were every bit the cosy couple.
