There’s a badass, plus-size, female superhero in town, and we’re loving it SICK.
Meet Faith Herbert from the Valiant comic books. She is the latest superhero that may be heading to the big screen! Basically, exactly the kind of representation we need right now.
Deadline reports that Sony Pictures has started working on a live-action film that focusses Faith, also known as Zephyr.
Faith was first introduced in Harbinger, which is all about a group of super-powered teens who are also outcast’s.
Later on, Faith was given her own limited series, named Faith.
Faith was an orphan, who now uses her ability to fly and levitate objects around her to protect Los Angeles — all the while working as a reporter. You can read the very first issue right here.
While there’s no word on a release date, Deadline did report that Maria Melnik has been selected to write the film.
She has previously worked on American Gods and Black Sails.
Dan Mintz, Neal Moritz, and Toby Jaffe are on to produce.
Naturally, people on social media are all for this new amazing superhero.
KEEN!
