Chances are that you’ve heard of Minions.
Love or hate them, they’re incredibly successful and well known, from the Pixar animation Despicable Me. Their yellow skin, cute voices and funny mannerisms is what has made them so incredibly popular, however, they were intended to be so different.
The team that created the Minions for Despicable Me were character designer Eric Guillon and directors Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud.


As the story evolved, the humans turned into robots. They believed that the idea of robots made them naive and amusing when knocked around.

After a while, they all settled on the robot-esque characters of the Minions we know today.
