A LOT has happened in Ariana Grande’s world in the last few months.

In May, Ari and Mac Miller suddenly split after two years of dating. Shortly after, Ari confirmed that she was in a relationship with SNL star Pete Davidson – who had also just split with his GF Cazzie David. A few weeks into Ari and Pete’s romance, the pair announced their engagement.

Despite all of this, Mac has remained tightlipped about Ariana’s new relationship.

But, the rapper has finally addressed Ari’s sudden engagement in a recent interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1 on Apple Music. And surprisingly, there are no hard feelings for the 26-year-old.

“I am happy for her and moving forward with her life, just as I’m sure she is with me,” he said.

Mac went on to reveal that his relationship with the ‘Dangerous Woman’ singer was sometimes stressful.

“Life is stressful. You know what I mean? So of course there were stressful times; it’s not that unique,” he said. “You know, like, I was in love with somebody. We were together for two years. We worked through good times, bad times, stress, and everything else. And then it came to an end and we both moved on. And it’s that simple, you know? And, like, I haven’t been on the internet. So, you know, people have assumed that I’m, you know, like, ‘Are you OK. Is everything OK?’”

Shortly after their split, Mac was arrested for drunk driving. He had crashed his car into a pole and fled the scene but after running his plates, police arrested the rapper at his home. After the incident, Ariana tweeted “Pls take care of yourself.” Mac now describes the accident as a “stupid mistake”.

“What you don’t understand is that I lived a certain life for 10 years and faced almost no real consequence at all,” he said. “I had no version of the story that didn’t end up with me being fine. Yeah, I made a stupid mistake. I’m a human being. Like, drove home drunk. But it was the best thing that could have happened. Best thing that could have happened. I needed that. I needed to run into that light pole and literally, like, have the whole thing stop.”

We’re glad to hear that Mac seems to be doing well!
