While Lana Condor recently admitted that she purposely hammed up her flirting with Noah Centineo during the promo for To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, she has now revealed how this affected her real-life boyfriend Anthony De La Torre.
According to Lana, trolls started writing “horrible things” on Anthony’s social media platforms because they wanted Lana to date Noah instead of him. This treatment even led Anthony to disable his Instagram comments, which still remain that way now.
“It was so hurtful for both of us,” Lana told Cosmopolitan.
“This is supposed to be a good thing. Why are you coming for someone who has no part of this story? If you say you support me, why would you hurt someone I love?”
Thankfully the hate eventually calmed down, much to the relief of Lana and Anthony.
“People are starting to understand that you’re not necessarily the person you play onscreen,” she said.
Lana and Anthony have been together for over three years and they recently moved in together and adopted a puppy!
“There’s no other person in this world I want to spend every day doing nothing with,” she said of Anthony.
