If you haven’t watched the Vampire Diaries finale by now then CLICK AWAY! Forging ahead with the spoilers, let’s talk about that Klaroline moment at the end of the TVD finale…
Fans are loving the hint at Candice King, AKA Caroline, joining The Originals cast (or another spin-ff) all together, but what does Jospeh Morgan, Klaus himself, think? Turns out not much, because he didn’t even know about the surprise twist at the end!!!
“I didn’t know about the letter until after it aired,” Joseph told MTV News. “I was like, Huh, he sent her a letter… But it’s a fine balance they have to walk with the finale because ideally you bring back every character that meant something to the show. But then you also have to do justice to the story line that’s being played out. Knowing how passionate the fans are about everything, it was better to not have Klaus infiltrate that world.”
We agree it was done in the right way, but with Klaus’ fate up in the air on The Originals, how does it all fit in? “Does [the letter] mean he’s safe?” Joseph mused, “Because he’s obviously written the letter some time in the future, so does that mean he survives the whole season? Or is he writing it at some point in Season 4? The more you open that Pandora’s box, the harder it is to close it.”
Hmmm sounds to us like he has a sneaky idea of how it all fits in and whether or not Caroline will be making an appearance in New Orleans, but he’s not giving anything else away!
Showrunner Julie Plec is being harassed by fans for some official word on a cross-over or spin-off, but all she’ll give away is that she hasn’t ruled it out:
“We do have crossover elements in the upcoming season of The Originals that’s about to start airing, and it all brings it back to what I see as a future for either The Originals or another piece of the franchise to launch off of the end of The Originals.”
