According to a new interview, Euphoria and The Kissing Booth star Jacob Elordi is ‘tired’ of playing teenagers.

In a recent interview with GQ Australia, the talented Aussie actor admits that while he’s grateful that roles like Noah Flynn in Netflix’s The Kissing Booth and Nate Jacobs in HBO’s Euphoria catapulted him into fame, he finds continuously “going back to high school kind of taxing.”

“Nothing against that but I’ve sort of done it and it would be really hard for me to find joy in that,” he told GQ Australia. “I’m also getting older now, and I’m starting to look older, so to keep going back to high school is kind of taxing.”

In the same interview, the 23-year-old actor revealed that after production of the second season of Euphoria was postponed “indefinitely,” he fled back home to Brisbane. Instead of showing off his acting chops, he’s living back at home with his parents, working on script, painting, and growing out a crazy mullet.

Reflecting on his successful career, he said his work on the hit teen show co-starring Zendaya, Hunter Schafer and Barbie Ferriera opened doors to him he didn’t even begin to imagine.

“After Euphoria, the coolest shift happened,” he said. “It put me on the radar, that I could maybe act, and it allowed me to sit down with these guys whose work I admire–they knew my work and they had enjoyed it. So I could have these really adult, creative conversations with like-minded people.”

And, tbh, we don’t blame him. We wouldn’t want to repeat high school forever, too, especially if our experience is as intense as anything to come out of Euphoria. Jacob Elordi will reunite with co-star and ex-girlfriend Joey King in Netflix’s The Kissing Booth 2 on the 24th of July.
