It’s a universally accepted fact that nobody despises the Twilight franchise as much as its pasta-making star, Robert Pattinson. Well, if we know anything it’s that history repeats itself. Who is the current long-suffering actor at the centre of a beloved teen franchise? Our very own Aussie boy, Jacob Elordi.
Elordi has previously had to reassure fans that he was not, in fact, miserable during the filming of The Kissing Booth 2. Instead, the 23-year-old actor claimed he was suffering from ‘resting miserable face‘ and exhaustion. Poor guy went straight from working on his critically acclaimed HBO show Euphoria, into four months of filming the Kissing Booth sequel and the recently announced The Kissing Booth 3. Thankfully for Elordi the sequels were filmed back to back, as he’s mentioned he’s “tired of playing teenagers.”
Fans reckon that it might have had something to do with his breakup with Joey King, who plays his on-screen girlfriend Elle, but we’re sure they’re both nothing but professional. In fact, some Kissing Booth fans are so obsessed with the film they’re reaching out to Elordi to see how they can be more like his character Noah.
During a new interview with GQ, the Elordi went undercover and answered fans questions on the internet. When one fan wrote in that their girlfriend wished they were more like Noah, the Kissing Booth actor was decidedly not here for it.
“My girlfriend said [Noah’s] her dream guy. What are direct things I can do to be like that?” the fan wrote.
“That’s awful, I’m so sorry,” Elordi said after reading the fans message. “Your girlfriend should never say that. Don’t listen to that, you’re her dream guy.” 🥺 He’s right and he should say it.
The actor also cautioned against emulating his reformed bad-boy womaniser character, “Don’t be like Noah Flynn, I wouldn’t want to be like that in real life. Be like Jacob Elordi? Don’t be like either. Be yourself, man.”
Whattaguy. So wholesome, so down to earth. While most of The Kissing Booth cast has been busy doing interviews (including with us!) and fuelling dating rumours—Joey King and Taylor Zakhar Perez are on holiday together—Elordi has been spending time at home with his family in Australia. Just a man who wants to enjoy growing a mullet and drinking pink cruisers with the boys in Brissy in peace.
