For a while now, rumours have been bubbling that Miley Cyrus could be planning to bring back her classic Disney Channel show, Hannah Montana. Now, we’ve been treated to a whole plan from Cyrus about exactly how she reckons it could happen.
Between this and the Pretty Little Liars and Gossip Girl reboots that have been announced this year, it looks like we’re gonna have a lot of nostalgic TV viewing coming up pretty soon! If you know, you can have nostalgia for something that only finished three years ago.
The news comes from a recent appearance on a radio show. “Hannah’s in storage,” the singer and actress explained.
“You know when something’s like a good vintage T-shirt? Enough time has to go by and it’s good again. It goes through that period where it’s just bad because it’s old, then it’s so old that it’s good again. That’s why we have to wait.” Cyrus continued, “Hannah is like a fine wine. We gotta wait until she’s ready.”
We guess there’s a little weight to her theory! After all, the massively successful CW drama Riverdale is based off the Archie Comics series that began in the 1940s.
Cyrus has also shared that she’s pretty keen to put her old blonde wig on again. “You know what? Honestly, I try to put that wig on all the time,” she shared during an interview from back in August.
“She’s just in storage collecting dust and I’m ready to whip her out… the opportunity will present itself. I definitely would like to resurrect her at some point.” The actress also shared that when she does come back, Hannah will have an entirely updated new look. “She needs a big makeover because she’s kinda stuck in 2008, so we’ll need to go shopping with Miss Montana,” she joked.
“And also yeah, I’d love to do a series again. I think it would be hard for me to get locked into a sound stage for a couple years, but that’s sometime in the future and hopefully I’m directing it.”
We are so excited and here for this! We wonder if any of the original cast will make a return too? Here’s hoping! In the meantime, we’ll be waiting to see if that Miley Cyrus x Justin Bieber collab appears in his upcoming “new era” of music.
