Moving on after a breakup is only made more difficult when you’re constantly seeing your exes’ posts on Instagram. We’ve all been there–when you don’t want to unfollow your s.o. and you also want to stop seeing all their photos and stories.
If you’ve ever wished there was a way to hide someone from your feed then rejoice because Instagram has heard your prayers and finally introduced a mute button!
It’s basically a hide all function that will be rolled out over the coming weeks. Instagram says the feature will assist with “managing complex social dynamics.”
In a statement, Instagram explained:
“The accounts you mute will not be aware that you’ve muted them. You can always unmute an account to get their posts back in your feed.”
To mute an account, users will be able to tap the “…” menu next to an account handle, and choose “Mute Posts.”
You’ll still able to view posts on the muted account’s profile page and receive notifications about any comments or posts you’re tagged in.
