So we’re imagining by now that you’re prepared and highly enthused for Harry Styles’s return to acting. Between being pretty much confirmed to star in Olivia Wilde’s upcoming psychological drama Don’t Worry Darling as well as the queer love story My Policeman, we haven’t had this much acting!Harry since 2017’s Dunkirk. And despite what you might think about that being enough on one man’s plate, some people reckon there could be yet another role on the cards for Styles: James Bond. Before you get too excited about the current rumours Harry Styles will be the next James Bond though, a new report says that they “aren’t even remotely true.”
In the latest case of, “okay what is the truth then?” the Daily Mail has reported that Styles will not be replacing Daniel Craig as James Bond, despite previous sources claiming otherwise.
ICYMI, a previous source told the Mail that, “Harry is deadly serious,” about the Bond role. “He has had a series of high-level meetings about becoming 007. Harry believes he is the final two,” the source had claimed. “Harry is a new age British man… he’s confident in his own skin and making him Bond would signal the franchise changing with the times.”
Could we really see Styles as Bond? Styles is still filming music videos in the lead up to Grammy nomination season, and from the pictures of him running around Italy and driving about in a convertible, he looks cute, but does he look like a Bond?
Styles has addressed the Bond rumours, but unfortunately for fans, it doesn’t seem like he’s putting much weight in them. “I mean, who wouldn’t?” Styles answered when asked if he’d be interested in playing the series’ titular character. “I grew up watching those. You know, I loved him when I was a kid. So I think it’s kind of everyone’s dream a little bit, right?”
