The DisInsider was the first to confirm the exciting news, however, Disney has yet to make an official comment.

The former One Direction band member has been a fan-favourite to play the role of Prince Eric since news of disney’s live-action remake was announced, with that jaw-line, hair, and voice. He was the ideal candidate!

Not to mention the singer made his acting debut in Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster Hollywood film Dunkirk in 2017, showcasing that the boy-bander had some serious acting skills.

As for Halle Bailey, insiders have previously reported that she was director Rob Marshall’s favourite for the part since the beginning.

Rob said in an official statement: “After an extensive search, it was abundantly clear that Halle possesses that rare combination of spirit, heart, youth, innocence, and substance — plus a glorious singing voice — all intrinsic qualities necessary to play this iconic role.”

Harry marks the fourth member to be cast in the live-action reimagining with Jacob Tremblay, Awkwafina and Melissa McCarthy already on board!
