With how committed the Shadowhunters fans have been in trying to save the show from cancelation, we’re surprised it hasn’t happened yet.
They’ve had petition’s, paid for a huge billboard, flew a PLANE over Netflix HQ, raised a bunch of money, and had a Twitter hashtag go HAM for weeks!
However, their own network, Freefrom, just poked fun at them… and the fans are NOT happy.
During Freeform’s “POPnKnowledge” version of Toy Story, fun facts and trivia popped up on the screen. In one scene, Andy is about to go out, and his mum says he’s only allowed to bring one toy.
We all know the scene…
Woody uses the Magic 8 Ball to ask if Andy will pick him. While he shakes the ball for the answer, the question, “Will Freeform save Shadowhunters if I keep tweeting about it?” pops up on the screen.
The answer “DON’T COUNT ON IT” appears on the 8 Ball at the same time. Yikes.
While it was probably done for a laugh, fans have been tweeting their rage.
After the insane backlash, Freeform released a statement. “Freeform has no comment on the mean-spirited pop-up, while a source at the network tells TVLine that its inclusion within the enhanced Toy Story broadcast was ‘a mistake’.
