It’s been 23 years since J.K. Rowling became a household name with Harry Potter, and to this day, she’s STILL dropping bombs on us.
Earlier today, the final trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald was released, and boooooy has it caused a stir in the Potter community.
Not only did it confirm that Dumbledore was in a romantic relationship with Grindelwald when they were younger… but it’s delved into the history of Nagini, Voldemort’s most notorious Horcrux/snake.
Not too long ago, new character was introduced in a poster for the film, played by Claudia Kim. We had no idea who she would be playing until now… and it turns out she is a witch. A witch who turns into Nagini!
In the trailer, we see the young witch trapped in a cage at a magic circus. Right before she transforms into a HUGE serpent, Credence, watching from the crowd, utters “Nagini”.
SHOOK!
This is major news, and as expected, fans were @ing J.K. Rowling about the revelation.
J.K. is now revealing how Nagini got to be a serpent. Apparently, she had a condition which is passed down from mother to daughter and is only found in witches, which is referred to as being “Maledictus”.
Oh, and J.K has held this secret in for TWENTY YEARS!!!
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald hits theatres November 16.
