If you’re craving a new dance-centric teen romcom, may we suggest: Feel The Beat?
Feel the Beat follows the journey of April (Sofia Carson), a young self-centered dancer from Wisconsin who dreams of being a big Broadway star. But, after she blows her big Broadway audition and clashes with the production’s manager, she reluctantly returns home and agrees to coach a team of young misfits for a big dancing competition. The prize? A one way ticket back to restarting her plan for a Broadway career.
It’s a fun, sweet and wholesome comedy out on Netflix on the 19th of June.
Aaand because we know how it is sometimes, we’ve done the research and found what you need to know about the cast, including who they might be dating.
Sofia Carson

In Netflix’s Feel The Beat, Sofia Carson (Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists) plays April, an aspiring Broadway actress who blows her big audition and returns home to help coach a class of pre-teen dancers.
In the movie, Carson is cunningly determined and puts herself in front of everything. Her actual personality, meanwhile, is a literal angel.
Plus, she is a total fashion icon leading the way with tulle fits. Here she is dressed like a modern princess in a chic tulle gown in front of what could only be her actual castle.
This cute and fluffy pink tiered tulle gown with a feathered bodice at the Golden Globes earlier this year.
And this photo of her in a creamy beige dress and tulle bodice.
In May 2019, the Descendants star told Cosmopolitan that she wasn’t interested in dating and was focusing on dating her career.
“I made a decision about two years ago that I don’t want to date anyone in the business,” she told the outlet. “So as you can imagine, that makes it a little bit difficult.”
“I’m dating my career. I’m sure you are as well.”
Judging from her Instagram, we suspect that’s still the case since her career is thriving and we see no sign of her dating. Although, she does love her music producer pal Fadil El Ghoul.
Yesterday, the music producer shared this pic of Sofia Carson in front of a projector showing his face with the caption, “drop 5000 comments and i tell you the big news we have,” tagging Carson and using a rose emoji. Naturally, fans are beginning to suspect the two are dating and this is their big announcement.
Wolfgang Novogratz

Wolfgang Novogratz plays Nick, April’s first love that she tries to avoid when she comes back home but awkwardly bumps into… a lot.
The 23-year-old heartthrob has starred in The Half of It, The Last Summer and Sierra Burgess Is a Loser. And when it comes to his social presence, he’s a real enigma.
The way we see, it’s near impossible to tell who he’s dating if at all right now. Novogratz only made his Instagram earlier this year and the few posts he’s shared are trailers of The Half of It and Feel The Beat, and a heartwarming message dedicated to healthcare workers during the Covid-19 pandemic.
It’s hard to say whether his account is managed by someone else or if he’s just that shy. But, either way, our boyfriend-to-be is humble, kind and cute as a button. We just wish he shared more pics of himself.
Brandon Kyle Goodman

In Feel The Beat, Brandon Kyle Goodman plays April’s friend and New York City roommate. He’s also a writer for Netflix’s Big Mouth and starred in Amazon’s Modern Love (co-starring Tina Fey, Anne Hathaway, Julia Garner, Dev Patel and Andrew Scott).
Outside of the show, he’s using his platform to share the Black Lives Matter movement, inform others on the systemic racism against black Americans in the U.S., and share adorable moments with him and his husband, Mathew Raymond-Goodman.
In the video below, the Goodmans open up about their relationship and their experience as an interracial couple.
If you’d like to who your other celebrity crushes are dating (before they date you, obvs), we’ve also rounded up the cast of Love, Victor. And, our pals at Syrup found who the cast of Outer Banks, The Half of It, Blood & Water, Betty, Motherland: Fort Salem and Never Have I Ever.
