Could you imagine Teen Wolf without Stiles? No, neither could we… but that totally was a possibility for a while.
Dylan O’Brien has been on the panel of the show during Comic Con over the weekend, and other than getting extremely emotional about the show ending, he also revealed some secrets.
Talking to Entertainment Tonight, he revealed that he wasn’t contractually obligated to be part of the final chapter.
“[It was] really important to me,” he explained. “That was not the plan, either. I wasn’t originally able to be a part of the last 10 [episodes] at all, nor was I contracted to be.”
Um, WHAT?!
“For me, it was my first role ever, so it would’ve been hard to eventually just not be a part of something that was still ongoing,” Dylan added. He was also asked whether or not it was his decision to go back, and he explained: “Fully voluntary. It was all heart.”
That’s our boy.
But, he unfortunately also dropped some news about the fate of Stiles and it doesn’t look good. When talking about the possibility of a post-series “revival,” Dylan said: “I haven’t heard anything about this, but I can guarantee you I probably won’t be in it.”
Fans originally thought that Stiles might get killed off, so that sort of hints at that… but it could also mean that he as an actor wouldn’t come back for a revival.
