Dylan O’Brien fans are in for a treat today: the Teen Wolf actor’s new movie Love And Monsters just dropped its official trailer! It’s been a minute since we’ve seen O’Brien on the big screen, and this new monster apocalypse movie looks like it could be perfect for Stranger Things and Zombieland fans.
The Love and Monsters trailer opens with high school couple Joel Dawson (O’Brien) and Aimee (Jessica Henwick) being adorable during a hang in a parked car. Because love never runs smooth, an emergency siren begins and so does… the monster apocalypse. Giant, grotesque creatures wreak havoc on humanity, and Joel and Aimee get separated.
Seven years later, Joel hears Aimee on the radio and, of course, he sets off to find her. The film has strong Zombieland vibes and stars Michael Rooker and Ariana Greenblatt as a no-nonsense travelling pair who aid Joel on his quest. Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen produced the film, so you know you’re in for some fun monster excellence—they also worked on Stranger Things.
On Twitter, O’Brien posted a link to the new trailer along with the joking commentary, “#LoveAndMonsters coming out October 16th gonna cry don’t look at me,” along with a few choice emojis.
He also joked that the film was one of the two most anticipated films of the year: “Right on the heels of the #Dune trailer!!!! Come on, we can do it!!#LoveAndMonsters #21million985thousandtogo #littlefriendlycompetition #TwoMostAnticipatedFilmsOfTheYear #ChalametAlwaysBeBAE.”
Yep, even O’Brien’s a fan of the Little Women star Timothée Chalamet.
