Remember back in 2010 when the film Valentine’s Day dropped? And then a year later when New Year’s Eve hit cinemas? Everyone freaked out over just how many A-Listers were featured in the same movie? Well, it’s happened again with Netflix’s new film, Don’t Look Up.

No, but when we say star-studded… we mean *star-studded*. Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Jonah Hill, Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Kid Cudi, Tyler Perry, with Cate Blanchett, Meryl Streep and more.

According to a press release from Netflix: “DON’T LOOK UP tells the story of two low-level astronomers who must go on a giant media tour to warn mankind of an approaching comet that will destroy planet Earth.”

Viewers were given a first look at the film earlier today in an all-new teaser trailer.

To recap, Leonardo is breathing heavily in a bathroom. Jennifer is a red head. Timothée is wearing a backwards baseball cap. Jonah is cracking jokes. We couldn’t tell you what Ariana is doing because she is literally in the trailer for one second. And Meryl seems to be pretty chill about the world potentially ending.

The film was written and directed by Adam McKay who was an executive producer on Olivia Wilde’s directorial debut, Booksmart, as well as Step Brothers, Anchorman 2, Succession and more.

The film is hitting select theatres and Netflix on December 24th. So nice of Netflix to have us think about the world ending the day before Christmas 😍🙏🥰✨.

As always, the announcement sparked a lot of opinions. And there was one concern about the film that just kept cropping up in the YouTube comments.

While many were excited to see so many esteemed actors share a screen, others were worried about just how much of the budget had gone towards the cast as opposed to *ahem* the script.

“Let’s hope they didn’t spend the whole budget on the actors and left some for the writers too, because with this cast if the plot is not amazing this movie will be real bad,” one user wrote.

Another agreed, adding: “I hope this isn’t one of those movies where the cast is stacked but the actual film itself is lacking.”

“Hopefully they didn’t spend all the money on casting and forgot about the actual plot of the movie,” a third echoed.

Others chimed in to suggest just how the streaming platform was able to afford all these expensive celebs.

“It makes sense now. All the shows Netflix cancelled prematurely was to fund this film,” a user wrote.

Another added: “I’m guessing that this is all that lockdown money Netflix made.”

Meanwhile, some users were convinced they already know exactly what this movie is *actually* about.
