Chiara Ferragni’s documentary, ‘Unposted,’ brought her to tears

The fashion blogger says it “goes deep.”

She may be a front row fixture at fashion shows and boast a whopping 21.6 million Instagram followers, but according to fashion blogger Chiara Ferragni, the general public only knows half of what goes on behind the scenes of her glamorous life.

Fans of the Italian businesswoman, however, will soon get their first full look behind the curtain with the premiere of Unposted, a documentary that details Ferragni’s life and the growth of her globally successful brand, The Blonde Salad. You can watch the trailer for the film at the top of this story.

The documentary, which was made by Roman filmmaker and novelist Elisa Amoruso, premiered at the Venice Film Festival on September 3, 2019, prompting Ferragni to post a raw, honest video to her Instagram account.

Ferragni said she filmed the video, which shows her bare-faced, openly crying and speaking in Italian, after seeing the documentary for the very first time, adding that she was “feeling super emotional and EXTREMELY happy”.

“Creating this documentary has been the most challenging project I’ve ever taken part into,” the 33-year-old blogger wrote in her caption.

“Letting someone else, the director @elisamoruso, tell my story and go deep in everything I’ve experienced has been scary but therepeutic [sic]. Being able to show you how my business started [over] 10 years ago and that it’s not only about posting a nice selfie was of extreme importance to me.

“Showing you how much dedication, hard work and believing in yourself always pays off. But at the same time not being afraid of talking about the mistakes I’ve made along my way, people that took me down and all my insecurities.”

According to an early review from The Hollywood Reporter, the film is “heavy on praise for the entrepreneurial blogger” and showcases some of her personal life with husband Fedez, an Italian rapper, whom Ferragni married in an incredibly lavish ceremony in Sicily in August 2018.

The movie also features commentary from what THR describes as “a roll call of fashion’s finest designers”.
