In case you haven’t noticed, Reggie on Riverdale was replaced by actor Charles Melton.
We got a first look at him in the season two premiere, and now we’re so thirsty for more.
Charles sat down with Teen Vogue to talk all things Charles Melton and Riverdale, and he told a pretty funny story about his dad roasting him when he landed the part.
“I went in about four times [for the audition], I didn’t know until the second time that it was actually [for Reggie]. I thought that was pretty cool when I found out. I had no idea who Reggie was, so I had to call my parents. My dad is a huge Archie comics fan. And he goes ‘Dude, you’re perfect for Reggie. He’s just a jerk and he’s funny, and a prankster. Just be yourself, man.’ And I was like, ‘Wow, sweet, dad. I’m a jerk, great. This should be easy.'”
Lol.
We also got to learn a little more about his character for season two.
“You can definitely expect to see a lot more Reggie. There’s going be a lot more interaction with the core characters, especially Archie. And you’ll see the dynamic and the friendship and the ally that Archie finds in Reggie when it comes to protecting Riverdale after reeling in the whole aftermath, his father being shot. I’m pretty excited about everything that we’ve done so far, specifically I’d say episode four. I’m very excited for that episode.”
So are we…
As for that Reggie and Josie romance that has been teased, Charles confirmed it himself.
“He loves all the girls. But I think maybe you’ll see something with Reggie and Josie. [She’s] such a talented actor, Ashleigh Murray. I think you can expect to see something with that.”
The best part of his interview with TV is the way he talks about KJ and Cole Sprouse, and the relationship he has formed with them…
“Well, [KJ] definitely looks up to me and I keep him in line and everything because he’s a child. [Laughs] He comes to me for life advice and everything, and I’m kind of like his big brother.
“So yeah, I’m definitely his hero and he definitely looks up to me. So does Cole. He looks up to me as well. It’s kind of coming in and being the alpha male right off the bat with these guys has been a gift within itself. [Laughs] No, no, no — there’s a lot of funny stories. I don’t even know where to begin.”
