If you somehow haven’t heard the news… 13 Reasons Why season 2 hits Netflix TOMORROW!! (May 18).
While we’re so keen to jump back into the lives of the characters we’ve grown to know and love (Clay and Jessica, really), we’re also keen to see the new faces joining the show this season.
Some new characters that will be integral to season two include Bryce’s parents, Barry Walker (Jake Weber) and Nora Walker (Brenda Strong).
Fascinatingly, Brenda is actually from Supergirl.
Deadline describes Barry Walker as “a successful hedge fund manager and pillar of the community.”
While Bryce’s parents didn’t make an appearance in season one, Justin Prentice did work with producer Brian Yorkey to give them a backstory anyway. Now, it’s going to be explored.
“Perhaps Bryce’s father is similar, if not worse,” Justin said to Seventeen.com. “A lot of [the back story] was about the father — the father figure being very similar to Bryce, and that’s where he gets a lot of his pointers from.”
Meredith Monroe (from Criminal Minds) signed on to play Carolyn Standall, Alex’s mom who’s a “hardworking nurse.”
But what about the Carrie Diaries actor? WELL, R.J. Brown is officially joining the cast as “a fierce competitor and [Tony’s] dedicated coach, but out of the ring he has a warm smile and a wry sense of humour.”
We know what we’ll be doing tomorrow night.
