Avengers: Endgames has a lot of Marvel fans worried that some of their favourite superheroes won’t have a future, but that is definitely not the case.
Especially not with Black Widow, who is played by Scarlet Johansson, because she’s getting her own movie – finally!
Director Cate Shortland and screenwriter Jac Schaeffer are preparing for Black Widow’s stand-alone movie, and it already sounds like it will be something majorly different for Marvel Studios.
Marvel has produced over 20 PG-13 films in the last decade, however with the success of Logan and Deadpool, they’re taking a more adult approach with this movie.
Accordin Crazy Days & Nights, Marvel Studios will make Black Widow their first R-rated movies. However, the blog’s explanation as to why they’re doing this is pretty deperessing.
According to the site, “if the experiment goes horribly wrong they have a woman to blame for it which is what this studio wanted.”
Not cool.
If there is one character in the Marvel universe to test an R-rated film on, it’s definitely Black Widow. Natasha was trained to be an assassin at a young age and deals with high-stakes espionage and international assassinations – usually with no emotion.
Right now, nothing has been set in stone regarding the movie and the rating, but we’re sure it’s going to be epic!
Black Widow has no release date yet but is rumoured to hit cinemas in 2020.
