Harry Styles has only just entered the world of acting, but BOY did he impress absolutely everyone after his debut in Dunkirk.
So, naturally, we and the rest of the world are wondering if he will continue acting.
Warner Bros. and Amazon Studios are currently developing Donna Tartt‘s acclaimed novel The Goldfinch into a movie, and both Harry and Ansel Elgort were in the running for the lead role!
Variety did confirm on October 3rd that director of the movie, John Crowley, met with several candidates for almost two months before “finally handing Elgort the role of Theo.”
Yay! Congrats to Ansel.
It’s so exciting that Harry, who only has one movie under his belt, was considered for such a huge role.
Strangely, Variety film reporter Justin Kroll announced on Twitter only a day after his article confirming Ansel for the role, that Harry is also in the running. Still?
With Harry’s busy schedule right now (he currently has two world tours booked out), we can’t say that he would have time to play a lead character in a movie… however it’s exciting that he was considered for such an important character.
Fans are also speculating about Selena Gomez being in the movie, as a few shots of her came out holding the novel while in New York.
The movie is also under the same production company that is producing her most recent movie.
We guess we’ll just have to wait and see! But we’re 3,000% certain that we’ll be watching this movie.
