Have we all recovered from yesterdays BOMBSHELL Bachie news that Matt Agnew and Chelsie McLeod have split? Ok good, because we’re here to tell you that feminist queen Abbie Chatfield has broken her silence with one very important message: she is not to blame.

Yesterday, this year’s bachelor Matt Agnew announced that he had split from his chosen winner, Chelsie McLeod, by releasing the following statement on Instagram.
“These past six months since filming have been a very unique experience,” Matt’s statement began.
“Chels and I have made some beautiful memories together that I’ll always cherish, and I wish her nothing but the absolute best.”
“However, it’s with a heavy heart that I write this. For Chels and me, our relationship hasn’t translated from filming to the real, every day world as we had hoped.
“Chels is a very special woman and I want her to find the happiness she deserves. For those who may wonder if there’s someone else for me right now, there absolutely is not.”
Matt ended it: “It’s no one’s fault, it’s just life.”
Chelsie also released her own statement – as well as a plea to her followers to not send her any articles surrounding the breakup – which makes us think it was most probably Matt who called it off.
“Thank you so much to everyone for your support and kind words over what was an incredibly exciting, rewarding, challenging, and emotional journey,” Chelsie began.
“Your words have not gone unnoticed. Matt showed me what it was like to be respected in a relationship and I am so thankful for that. However, it saddens me to say that we are no longer together. I wish him nothing but the best. I’m sorry to those that were invested in our relationship. Please remember to be kind online as you don’t know what is going on behind the screen. All my love ❤️.”
Chelsie then posted this on her Instagram story: “Hey guys, don’t send me any articles etc if that’s ok. It won’t help. Xxxx”.
As was to be expected – and because the internet is filled to the brim with trolls – many people online began bugging the hell out of runner-up Abbie Chatfield, who many believe had more chemistry with Matt.
In response to everything, Abbie decided to release her own statement which shut down any rumours that she and Matt are now together, as well as throwing her support behind her friends.
“Hello everyone,” Abbie’s statement began.
“I’ve been tagged in a lot of comments this morning on posts about Matt and Chelsie’s relationship ending. Some of you are saying it’s ‘my shot’, others are saying that he’s done a Blake Garvey. None of this is fair on Chelsie, Matt or me.”
As for why Chelsie and Matt didn’t work out, some people are saying that they spent too much time away from each other, which brings our attention back to this one – fairly telling – post that Chelsie made a few weeks ago.
“Remember that time we got to hang out @drmattagnew?” Chelsie captioned the pic, “Maybe you should come back now so we can do that again.”
Ooft.
Whatever the reason, we really hope Matt and Chelsie are doing ok.
