Taj kicked off by explaining that he is kind of a big deal…
“There’s one video on Instagram and it’s at 14 million views” he explained.
“Ellen saw my Instagram and she said I should have him on!” he continued. That’s right, this kid has already #madeit on freaking Ellen… so we knew this performance was going to be good.
“It was good – she’s very funny,” he explained of Ellen.
Shane Jacobson, one of the four judges, pointed out what we were all thinking: “The guitar is bigger than you are!”
“What got you into playing guitar?” Shane continued.
“My dad and my pop took me to an ACDC concert two and a half years ago, and I said I want to do that for the rest of my life,” Taj explained.
Taj’s dad agreed. “Something happened to him that night, it was crazy, he’s obsessed.”
This is when Taj is given the stage, slaying a rock medley that included hits from ACDC and Led Zepplin, even adding in the incredibly famous guitar riff from “Stairway to Heaven.”
And yeah, he nails it.
Shane Jacobson was GOBSMACKED. “You are the real deal and you’re 9! You had your eyes shut, you were doing it like a professional mate. That was unbelievable. You are it! I’m your number one fan. I don’t know what your Instagram is but I’m going to be all over you for the rest of your life.”
Same Shane, same.
Fellow judge Lucy Durack was just as impressed. “Taj Farrant you are a bonafide rock legend!” she claimed.
Manu echoed his fellow judge’s sentiments. “You’re so relaxed, you play guitar like crazy! Fantastic buddy, thank you.”
Of course, Taj makes it through with all four judges giving him a HUGE yes!
