High school is a mixture of heartbreak, deep crushes and friendship – basically, there’s a lot of ups and downs but it can be a fun experience. These 10 movies are the best/funniest/cutest depictions of high school and we’re low-key obsessed with all of them.
#10 Easy A

High school student Olive Pendergast (Emma Stone) transforms herself into the popular girl by wearing a red A on her clothes and telling a few white lies about her sex life. This coming of age rom-com is hilarious and features a young (and very cute!) Penn Badgley.
#9 High School Musical

This is the movie which began our life-long crush on Zac Efron. This film launched the careers of Zac, Vanessa Hudgens, and Ashley Tisdale and gave us the bangers ‘We’re All In This Together’ and ‘Breaking Free’. Iconic.
#8 Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

We’ve all had those days where we have wanted to pretend to be sick to get out of school and Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick) was the master of this. He fakes sick and manages to hijack a parade float, crash a car and wreak havoc with his bestie Cameron (Alan Ruck) and his girlfriend Sloane (Mia Sara).
#7 Mean Girls

This list wouldn’t be complete without Mean Girls! Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) has been homeschooled for most of her life and her world is turned upside down when she starts high school and tries to fit in with the popular girls known as ‘The Plastics’. This movie is so fetch! Sorry, we’ll stop trying to make ‘fetch’ happen.
#6 Grease

Grease is about the ultimate summer romance that we always wished we had. Filled with music, dancing and teen drama, Sandy (Olivia Newton-John) and Danny (John Travolta) are the dreamiest couple ever.
#5 Clueless
This ’90s cult classic is still one of our favs and Cher Horowitz (Alicia Silverstone) taught us some important life lessons (like waiting for the right guy!) and she gave us total outfit inspo.
#4 Hairspray

If watching John Travolta wearing a fat suit and playing a woman isn’t reason enough to watch this movie, we don’t know what is. Hairspray follows teen Tracy Turnblad (Nikki Blonsky), who manages to land a job on a local Baltimore dance show. The soundtrack is hella catchy and the movie highlights quite a few social issues so it’s fun and moving.
#3 21 Jump Street

Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum play crappy cops who are sent back to high school as students so they can bring down a drug ring. This movie is hilarious and these dudes are the best on-screen duo ever.
#2 Bring It On

Bring It On is the movie that made every girl want to be a cheerleader. Kirstin Dunst and Gabrielle Union star as the captains of two rival cheer squads. When Torrance (played by Dunst) learns that her former cheer captain stole their routines from the rival team, major drama goes down.
#1 The Breakfast Club

If you haven’t seen The Breakfast Club, you need to watch it immediately. Five students known as the brain (Anthony Michael Hall), the athlete (Emilio Estevez), the basket case (Ally Sheedy), the princess (Molly Ringwald) and the criminal (Judd Nelson) are stuck together for Saturday detention and they soon discover that they have more in common that they originally thought. It’s. So. Damn. Good.
