Netflix has announced that the History channel’s hit show Vikings is getting a spin-off series called Valhalla, and praise the Norse gods!

Vikings show-runner Michael Hirst had teased a spin-off series earlier in the year and it will be made by Netflix instead of the History channel.
Valhalla is said to be set 100 years after the events of Vikings, which is based on the legendary Vikings chief Ragnar Lothbrok and his descendants.

Release date

While Netflix is yet to confirm a release date for Valhalla, it’s looking like it won’t be available for us to watch until 2022 considering Vikings is scheduled to finish in 2021.
This way, Netlfix would be giving everyone time to chill and process the probably hectic ending of Vikings, before they dive into Valhalla.
What is the plot of Valhalla?

Netflix has vonfirmed that their spin-off show will follow the adventures of the most famous Vikings in history, inclufing Leif Erikson, Freydis, Harald Harada and William the Conqueror.

Who will be writing and producing Valhalla?

Michael Hirst – the creator Vikings – will be back as the showrunner Valhalla, alongside Die Hard writer Jeb Stewart, who will also be the executive director.
