This morning has been the absolute worst for Abbie Chatfield.
She was dumped on national TV, and now she has to spend all day talking about it.
And Nova radio host didn’t make it any easier.
Moments after Fitzy FULL-ON confronted Abbie about her “relations” with Matt, the 23-year-old was forced to look at her heartbreak in the face.
In what can only be described as a scheduling nightmare (the station had nothing to do with the timing), Nova 96.9 found that they had Abbie, Matt and Chelsie, all in the building at the same time for their post Bachie interviews.

While Matt and Cheslie look very in love, holding hands in the studio, old mate Fitzy drops this bombshell: “Let’s talk about the elephant in the room”, before gesturing towards Abbie.
“It’s a bit awkward that Abbie’s still here in the studio”, Wippa says, before the camera pans to an unsuspecting Abbie, as they all sigh in the most condescending way you could ever imagine.
It’s at this moment that Matt and Chelsie laugh awkwardly, which is nice.
We should point out here that one of the radio hosts says, “Oh god this is badly timed”.
Cool, except Channel Ten publicists would have – most likely – be in control of both Matt and Chelsie interview schedule, as well as Abbie’s.
So this doesn’t seem like an accident to us, but more like a pretty cruel idea for drumming up more stories and publicity.
“I don’t mean to freak you out right now but they are in that studio over there”, says one of the Nova employees who is in the room with Abbie who’s face falls, turning around to see the man she was in love with his new girlfriend.
The radio employee with Abbie THEN LAUGHS, before saying, “Are you alright?”
Abbie looks visibly distressed, and the fake concern from the Nova employee is borderline sickening.
“Holy sh*t”, Abbie says, before trying to collect herself.
Honestly, this is one of the worst things we’ve ever seen.
What’s even worse? It’s then revealed that a 32-year-old Matt spotted Abbie in the distance at the Nova studios “and bolted”.
Wow.
This is on top of Fitzy already slut-shaming Abbie in her interview with them this morning, asking The Bachelor runner-up: “When did you think you had it [Matt]? Was it when you were gyrating on his stomach on the beach? Or was it in the pool when you basically had your tongue down his throat.”
We don’t know how Abbie would be feeling at this moment, but we can’t imagine being constantly questioned for expressing your sexuality – especially by an older man with a public profile – would feel good.
Fitzy – not taking the hint – continued to fixate on Abbie’s sexual decisions throughout the show, saying: “After you said the line I am so toey [horny] at the moment and what I could do to you, was there a moment like a few minutes after that where you went ‘what did I just do?'”
We’d like to pause here and say whether you’re on TV or not on TV, you can most definitely express your desire to sleep with the man YOU ARE DATING.
There is straight-up nothing wrong with that, there is something wrong with a grown man making a woman feel like that by expressing her sexual desire for someone, somehow, makes her less respectable, even suggesting that she should be embarrassed.
It doesn’t.
