Tyler Posey is having a pretty big year. After a Teen Wolf reunion and joining Only Fans the actor has now revealed he’s also made some pretty big personal life changes. In a new interview on SiriusXM’s The Jason Ellis Show, Posey revealed that he is now sober, having quit drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana.

“I’m sober now,” the actor revealed, “I’m 71 days sober.” Congratulations to Posey! Apparently, the decision to stop drinking and smoking was made after going through what sounds like a pretty tough rough patch.

“I kind of fell out with everybody that I love and that I know,” he explained. “I became kind of a recluse. But now, I f*cking, I love myself for the first time in forever. Things are really, really, really, really good.”

Posey shared how he was affected when he began experimenting with drugs in his younger years and “developed an addict routine.”

“My drug and abusing was restricted to my home and by myself,” he shared. “I was one of those lonely, self-deprecating addicts and alcoholics.”

“I wasn’t proud of myself anymore,” he added. “Now I’m starting to get my sh*t together and it feels really, really, good. I just didn’t want to do that anymore.”

Posey also spoke about his sexuality and his open support of transgender people earlier this year.

“I know there are a lot of kids that look up to me and I just want to f*cking get rid of that stigma,” he said. “You can be whoever you want to be, get with whoever you want to get with and it doesn’t affect you and it doesn’t affect them.”

For those who missed it, Posey shared a moving Instagram Story earlier this year after learning of an assault on three trans women, coming in the wave of the Black Trans Lives Matter protests. In the story, he shared that he’s been with tran swomen before.

“I’ve been with trans women before. I’m confident with my sexuality,” he shared. “I love everybody. I don’t give a sh*t what anyone thinks about me.”

During his new interview, Posey explained that he felt “compelled” to speak out in order to help normalise open conversations about sexuality.

“The world is f*cking weird and it should be. There’s too much stigma on everything, and sexuality, especially,” he said. “I really didn’t have a plan for saying that sh*t, I just felt compelled.”
