Taylor Swift is officially releasing new music so Aries’ season wins.
WATCH: Where The Crawdads Sing | Official Trailer
The creative genius took to her Instagram on Wednesday to announce her new project.
Sharing a clip of the brand new trailer for the film adaptation for best-selling novel Where The Crawdads Sing, Taylor explained how she “got absolutely lost” in the book when she first read it.
“As soon as I heard there was a film in the works starring the incredible @daisyedgarjones and produced by the brilliant @reesewitherspoon, I knew I wanted to be a part of it from the musical side.”
WTCS, you stay winning 😍.
The All Too Well singer then revealed that she wrote a song called Carolina for the movie, and asked her friend Aaron Dessner to produce it.
“I wanted to create something haunting and ethereal to match this mesmerizing story.”
She added that fans will hear the full version of the tune very soon, but for now a snippet in the trailer would have to suffice.
Needless to say, when Taylor sets her mind to something – she does it, because her goal of “haunting” and “ethereal” is an apt description for the eerie song.
In the teaser, Taylor can be heard singing: “There are places, I would never, never go… things that only Carolina knows.”
We’ve heard enough… give the girl another Grammy.
Where The Crawdads Sing, written by Delia Owens, surrounds the story of a young girl, Kya, who is abandoned by her family and raised by the marshlands of the south in the 1950s.
When a key townsperson is found dead, the protagonist becomes the prime suspect of murder.
The film adaptation is penned by Lucy Alibar and stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, Harris Dickinson, David Starthairn, and more. It is expected to hit cinemas in July.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Taylor has leant her musical talents to the silver screen. Need we remind you of the absolute chokehold her 2012 hit Safe & Sound had after debuting in the Hunger Games franchise?
OR her 2009 hit Crazier that appeared in the Hannah Montana soundtrack?
Meanwhile, her rumoured fiancé Joe Alwyn is also currently part of a screen project.
The actor is starring in the highly-anticipated series adaptation of Sally Rooney’s hit novel Conversations With Friends, alongside Alison Oliver, Sasha Lane, and Sex Education’s Jemima Kirke.
So what we’ve learned is… 2022 is Taylor + Joe world domination and we can’t wait to see it.
