The event is occurring on May 2, with the first “mini-gala” having happened in September last year, as the Costume Institute dealt with pandemic restrictions.

Tom Ford, Adam Mosseri and Anna Wintour will return as honorary co-chairs for the second event.

Previous co-chairs have included the likes of Billie Eilish, Naomi Osaka, Timothée Chalamet, Harry Styles, Lady Gaga and more.

The Met Gala is an annual fundraising event to raise funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City.

The event sees some of Hollywood’s biggest stars come together. But, just like Gossip Girl, the guest list is a secret the Met will never tell… at least, prior to the event.

It’s very exclusive, so we’ll just have to wait and see who rocks up.

This year’s theme, In America: An Anthology of Fashionis a play on last year’s theme, In America: A Lexicon in Fashion.

The previous theme focused mostly on 20th and 21st century fashion and its ties to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Now, the focus will shift to the “unfamiliar sartorial natives filtered through the imagination of America’s most visionary film directors”, Andrew Bolton, curator of the Costume Institute, shared via The Met Gala’s official Instagram account.
