YouTube beauty mogul Nikkie ‘NikkieTutorials’ de Jager and her fiancé Dylan Drossaers were reportedly robbed at gunpoint in her own home overnight.
NikkieTutorials broke the news earlier this morning in a Twitter and Instagram message, confirming that a group of people broke into their home and stole their things. It’s unclear what was stolen and fortunately they weren’t physically harmed, but “mentally, it’s a whole other story.”
“Earlier today, one of my biggest nightmares became reality when we got robbed under gun point at our own home,” she wrote on Instagram.
“Dylan and myself got attacked but physically we’re okay. Mentally, it’s a whole other story.”
In response, fellow YouTube makeup influencers shared their support and condolences, praying that she was okay.
“Omg I’m praying for you,” wrote Patrick Starrr. “Ilysm😭❤️”
“I’m so glad you’re okay,” added James Charles. “I love you so much.”
According to Buzzfeed, local officials confirmed that at least three suspects were spotted leaving in a beige car. One person allegedly suffered “superficial” injuries, but it isn’t clear who. And, as of writing, it isn’t clear what exactly the thieves stole from Nikkie’s home.
The couple, who live in Uden, Netherlands, have been officially dating since January last year, and were engaged after Dylan proposed to Nikkie while on a trip in Italy in August, 2019.
“I’m writing this message for now to let you know that we are “okay” and safe,” she concluded. “Thank you for understanding as I take the next couple of days to myself.”
