Sometimes celebrity interviews are kind of boring. Maybe people are having an off day, maybe they don’t really feel like sharing—celebs are people too after all! However, this is not the case with Miley Cyrus. In a new interview with fashion legend Rick Owens for Interview Magazine, the “Midnight Sky” singer has gotten extremely candid about an apparent brush with other-worldly life. Specifically, being chased down by a UFO. She also casually dropped that she’s working on a Metallica cover album. 🤯
Cyrus’s UFO revelation came after her interviewer Owens mentioned that he went to Area 51 during a trip across the West Coast of the U.S. “Speaking of Area 51, do you believe in extraterrestrial beings?” asked Cyrus.
Owens explained that while he didn’t really, he also thought it was kind of arrogant to assume we’re the only ones out here in the universe. “That’s what I fucking think!” Cyrus agreed.
She then went on to describe a pretty wild sounding experience.
“I was driving through San Bernardino with my friend, and I got chased down by some sort of UFO,” she revealed, before admitting that she could have been a little under the influence.
“I’m pretty sure about what I saw, but I’d also bought weed wax from a guy in a van in front of a taco shop, so it could have been the weed wax. But the best way to describe it is a flying snowplow. It had this big plow in the front of it and was glowing yellow. I did see it flying, and my friend saw it, too. There were a couple of other cars on the road and they also stopped to look, so I think what I saw was real.”
Whether Cyrus really did see a UFO is definitely questionable, but it nevertheless really affected her. “I was shaken for, like, five days. It fucked me up,” she said, explaining that she couldn’t look at the sky the same and was concerned they might come back.
“I didn’t feel threatened at all, actually, but I did see a being sitting in the front of the flying object. It looked at me and we made eye contact, and I think that’s what really shook me, looking into the eyes of something that I couldn’t quite wrap my head around. But you’re so right to say that it’s a form of narcissism to think that we’re the only things that could be in this vast universe.”
Hoo boy. What to make of all this? It’s certainly not the first time this year UFO conversations have entered the mainstream, remember when the Pentagon released those alien pics?
As for Cyrus’s encounter and revelations? We guess… she’s just being Miley.
