KJ Apa is clowning on social media again, and this time people are extremely pissed.
Earlier in the week, the Riverdale actor shared a video claiming that a coronavirus cure has existed for months—false. The person in the video went on to say that masks weren’t needed to help stop its spread—also false. The post also claimed that Trump was “right all along” about a controversial and risky treatment, yes, you guessed it, also false.
A spokesperson for Instagram said in a statement, “We’ve removed this video for making false claims about cures and prevention methods for COVID-19.” They added that, “People who reacted to, commented on, or shared this video will see messages directing them to authoritative information about the virus.”

“Wake up America. Watch and share please,” the 23-year-old captioned his since-deleted post, according to fan screenshots.
It’s a bizarre move from Apa, even more so than his extremely cringy TikToks. He’s also come under fire before for his weird refusal to publicly support the Black Lives Matter movement beyond a performative black square.
To share blatantly false information about coronavirus in the U.S., a country that’s been shattered by it, which included the canceling of the production of his own show, is wildly irresponsible.
We hope they’re wearing masks on the set of his new movie, Songbird. It’s pandemic themed, too. 💀
Holy Fuck. Just when I didnt think KJ Apa could be more of a piece of human trash, he now posted a tRump medical misinformation video on his IG stories.
