Debby Ryan might be the most low-key funny Disney channel alumna out.
In a new TikTok video, the actress recreated some of her most recognisable characters, but she topped it off by pulling her supremely awkward expression in Radio Rebel. While you probably actually remember her from her roles as Bailey in The Suite Life on Deck to Jessie Prescott on Jessie, it’s the Radio Rebel face that went absolutely bonkers earlier this year when everyone realised how absurd her facial expression is.
ICYMI, Radio Rebel lives in the absurdly unrealistic high school movie genre, much like our current fav The Kissing Booth. The film follows a high schooler with a DJ alter ego, which actually in the age of bedroom pop and Soundcloud producers isn’t that absurd. Her face is though.
In her TikTok fashion video, Ryan recreates Jessie’s Jessie Prescott, The Suite Life on Deck’s Bailey Pickett, Insatiable’s Patty Bladell, and finally Radio Rebel’s Tara Adams.
Wearing her Tara costume, Ryan recreates the viral meme of her facial expression and it’s pure gold. “We stan an icon that can take a joke,” wrote one user.
It takes powerful energy to be able to make fun of a meme about yourself and Ryan nailed it. Naturally, the internet noticed and was v impressed. “The way Debby Ryan is the first person to acknowledge their own meme and not kill it… her power,” wrote one Twitter user.
