After a few months of speculation, it’s been confirmed that IRL Riverdale couple Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart have called it quits and broken up. The pair were together for nearly three years, and while neither have commented publicly about the split yet, Cole’s twin brother Dylan Sprouse has shared a couple of details.
According to Dylan’s interview, Cole is doing pretty well and leaning into life with a different Riverdale co-star. Since the coronavirus restrictions first came into effect, Cole has apparently been spending a lot of quality time with KJ Apa, who plays Archie in Riverdale. “Him and KJ in the very beginning of quarantine ended up staying together at KJ’s place in Los Angeles,” Dylan revealed. “So, they’re isolating together, which is very cute.”
As for what is going on in the newfound bromance? Just the usual apparently: hanging out and eating cheese. “I’ve heard a lot of cute stories,” joked Dylan, “I heard they’re just lifting weights and eating cheese… I think that’s what they do.”
Lighthearted fun sounds like it’d be just what someone needs after a breakup. If their past pranks on each other are anything to go by, the Cole x KJ household sounds like it would be very relaxed.
Dylan added that Cole is well, despite the breakup, and says that his brother is “good,” and that “he’s getting healthy, he’s relaxing, and I talk to him every day. We still FaceTime every day, for every year of my life.” Daily FaceTime calls between the Sprouse twins? So sweet! We guess you never forget your Suite Life roots.
Dylan even roasted his brother for the questionable goatee and moustache situation his twin is working on during quarantine. “This entire encounter really highlights for the public who really is the evil twin, right?” he joked. “I mean, take that on its own merit, but he looks like a guy who ties people to train tracks, right? He needs a top hat and a monocle, OK? I look like a paladin warrior who upholds the law.”
As far as celebrity quarantine facial hairstyles go we think it’s still better than Armie Hammer’s mohawk, and definitely a LOT easier to grow out and get rid of.
