Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, much like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sarah Hyland, are getting creative with their ways to encourage people to vote early in the impending U.S. presidential election. In a pair of matching Instagram photos posted on Thursday, 22nd of October both Lively and Reynolds smiled happily as they showed off their ballots and recounted their voting experience. In typical gently trolling each other fashion, as per the norm for this couple.
“It was Ryan’s first time,” Lively captioned her post. “He was understandably scared. It all happened so fast. Like, REALLY fast. He wept. I pretended to weep. Then he called all his friend. #voteearly.”
Ryan posted the same photo, albeit with one small omission: the hilariously drawn on shoes that Lively popped in her pic, tagging the Christian Louboutin account @louboutinworld.
Lively, is of course, in on the joke. Taking to her Instagram stories to rebuff her husband incredulously pointing to her extremely MS Paint-esque shoes she wrote “… I don’t see the issue.”
Then, she doubled down and offered her incredible services as a shoe designer to the famous red-bottom shoe brand. “@LouboutinWorld, are you hiring? Barefoot iPhone doodler with vast experience avail,” she wrote on a pair of embellished boots.
Honestly, what a woman!
In a later Instagram Story Lively seemed to explain the kinda bizarro, joking move. “Can you tell I was so happy to get outta a onesie and vote,” she shared with another picture of her grinning (feet bare, for those playing at home). “Sure it was an absentee drop off ballot with a mask covering my look. But dammit I exercised my right to vote. And to not wear shoes that ruined my outfit.“
Of course, because it’s the internet and people will find a way to take *anything* way too seriously, various pundits and media outlets have jumped on Lively for her fake shoes.
“Being wildly rich and famous surely breaks your brain in strange ways, and ‘drawing on heels instead of putting on shoes’ is one of them, apparently! i love it!!!” wrote one commenter. Meanwhile another person who clearly hasn’t realised that Lively is in on the joke wrote, “Someone please tell me I’m not crazy and that Blake Lively actually photoshopped a pair of heels on her feet for her photo.”
Anyway, if you need us we’ll be on Twitter encouraging people to vote and watching as people slowly *get it*.
Love ya work Blake!
