In news that continues to remind us that Bindi Irwin is so grown up now, the Australian conservationist just shared a sweet update about her pregnancy with her husband Chandler Powell. Irwin and Powell got married earlier this year in a pretty controversial move—sneaking in their wedding right before the coronavirus lockdowns came into effect. The young star showed off her growing baby bump on her Instagram over the weekend.
For once not wearing her usual Australia Zoo uniform, the 22-year-old posted wearing a black tank top and cargo pants, holding her belly.
“My beautiful mum took this photo yesterday,” she captioned the photo. “Baby girl is doing great. Every time we get an ultrasound she’s incredibly energetic and always moving around. She’s now about the same size as a mountain pygmy-possum. Too cute!” Trust the late Steve Irwin’s daughter to compare her lil baby to a mountain pygmy possum, this is too cute.
In the comments, her husband and father-to-be left a super sweet message. “She’s already growing up so fast and she hasn’t even arrived yet. I love you and our baby girl,” he wrote, adding a red heart emoji.
Earlier this month, the Bindi the Jungle Girl star revealed how she first broke the news to her husband, calling it a “moment where time stood still.”
“I took a test and ran into the kitchen where Chandler was making us tea,” she said.
“He didn’t hear me come in so I speechlessly watched him pouring the water into my most loved hedgehog mug. I started crying tears of pure joy and told my sweetheart husband that my test was positive. In that short span of time, the gorgeous baby I’m carrying became the most important part of our lives.”
We’re not crying, you are.
