Bella Hadid has been having a lot of fun playing with throwback fashion, beauty and hair trends lately, and now she’s taking it upon herself to revive another 2000s icon: Lizzie McGuire. The model and recent Auntie to her sister Gigi’s new baby girl shared a video of herself dancing and singing from a recent beach vacation. “Swipe to see the way @devonleecarlson and I have one beer and try to make a reboot Lizzie McGuire music video,” Hadid captioned her post. “She eggs me on. It’s absolutely not ok, I agree.”
As fans will know, Devon Lee Carlson is a good friend of Hadid’s and was presumably the one behind the camera during this nostalgia-fueled lip sync video. Hadid is wearing a bright yellow bikini and holding a beer while she sings along to Atomic Kitten’s “The Tide Is High.” The moment is a cute homage to a sweet moment in The Lizzie McGuire movie, which came out back in 2003. It only lasts a couple of seconds but the video did suddenly give us the urge to rewatch that iconic teen film.
Meanwhile, over on Carlson’s Instagram, she treated her followers to a slightly more polished music video remake. In the video of Carlson and her friends, also at the beach, they mouth the words to Nicki Minaj’s “Bedrock” track. She captioned the playful video “10s across the board.”
